Value of Execution…

Note # This blog was published @ http://www.pratyushsingh.com/

Recently, I was talking to an entrepreneur and he wanted my opinion on the possibility of success of his idea. He surprised me by asking if I could sign a “Non Disclosure Agreement” [NDA] …

One of my life goal to help and uplift as many people as I can hence took it as an opportunity to get deep dive invited for an interesting conversation…

I asked him , what is his definition of idea and how would he value his idea? According to him , Ideas are currency of success that is going to make him next “Sachin Bansal” [One of the Founder of Flipkart].

One thing that I do with my coaching clients is to upgrade the quality of their questions. My next question to him was “Tell me an original idea that led to great success”. He didn’t have an answer.

Point is you don’t need an original idea to become successful. I find that many successful companies became successful by executing a unoriginal idea.

  • iPod wasn’t first music player
  • Facebook was a clone of Myspace
  • Google wasn’t first search engine. Google didn’t invent monetization[overture did it] etc

There are lots of big ideas out there but most of them never move forward as there is no one making them possible.I agree that great ideas are the fuel of creative life, but it wont become success unless you work harder on transforming these ideas into reality.

To me “ideation with execution is mere delusion” and has no value unless its acted upon and brought to life. With due respect , this world is full of great thinkers & philosophers who are great at thinking and not so good at execution..Great entrepreneurs are great at execution..

GREAT IDEAS ARE WORTHLESS WITHOUT EXECUTION.Pic2

Lets accept the fact that an idea Is just an idea. Its not

  • Not a trademark or copyright
  • Not a business or Patent
  • Not a Product

I found it funny when another entrepreneur mentioned that he would OWN the idea and outsource the execution. As Steve Job once mentioned that there is a great craftsmanship between a great idea and a great product.

If you dont get into details of execution , you would miss the entire fun of craftmanship. While , I am not promoting that an entreprenuer needs to be hands on everything ,all I am pointing is that an entreprenuer needs to be good at core of his idea. Indeed , its a good idea to outsource non-core activities

To me it sounds funny to be protective of ideas.

To me , what matters is the ability & drive to execute. A great entrepreneur is someone who puts a great SWEAT equity into an idea to give an idea form and function.

One of friend mentioned to me “If you go to VC firms with a brilliant idea and you tell them to sign a nondisclosure agreement, most will tell you to get lost. This shows the value of an idea”

Value starts to come in an Idea once an entrepreneur  put a flavor of execution into it.There is an iteration cycle to idea..Idea→ mini execution→ idea → execution → idea→another idea→executing→refining→success!

Designing a product is keeping five thousand things in your brain and fitting them all together in new and different ways to get what you want. And every day you discover something new that is a new problem or a new opportunity to fit these things together a little differently. And it’s that process that is the magic. Steve Jobs

You have a choice – What is the single smallest action that you can take in the very moment which is going to move you closure towards your dream. Avoid being someone who wants things to work, without ever wanting to work things out.

Here is what comes to my mind, it will ONLY work, if you WORK IT!

With great enthusiasm & encouragement ,

Is having difference of Opinion Good?

Note # This blog has already been published @ http://www.pratyushsingh.com

Recently , One of my ex-colleague mentioned that he wants to leave his Organization as he is having massive difference of opinion with his boss. His boss is MOST stressful part of his Job and its taking toll on his health.

Not a New discussion or a New problem as 3 out every 4 people report that their boss is the most stressful part of their Job.

“Seventy-five percent of working adults say the worst aspect of their job — the most stressful aspect of their job — is their immediate boss,” As per USA Today.

“Stressful Bosses “ have been researched, analyzed & written in detail so I am not going to put another thought around it.

What caught my attention is that– we term our Bosses “Bad Boss” because of “Difference of Opinion”? If I understand from my ex-colleague issue , it was primarily due to difference of opinion so is in most other cases.

Now Is having Difference of Opinion Good?

If we THINK deeply & consciously, Its obvious that Since the beginning of human civilization, people have thought differently, acted differently & fared differently from each other. We have difference of opinion with our children, our spouse & our Parents. Do we prefix them with “Bad”? The view that we adopt for ourselves profoundly affects the way we lead life. Believing that our opinions or qualities are carved in stone – the fixed mindset creates an urgency to prove ourselves again and again.

Is it our “FIXED MINDSET” that is causing stress or “Our Boss”?

“It were not best that we should all think alike; it is difference of opinion that makes horse races.”-Mark Twain

There are three musts that hold us back: I must do well. You must treat me well. And the world must be easy. Albert Ellis

As my ex-colleague puts it that there is daily battle of constant criticism & negativity, no matter what we achieved, the focus is always on “What went wrong?” or “What we needed to do better?”

How about changing our “OWN” mindset vs “fixing our Boss” or “Changing Company”?

a) One has a Choice – Someone rightly mentioned that we are Product of our choices. It depends on you how you interpret your challenges, setbacks & criticism? You can interpret them in a growth mindset that you have to stretch , expand your capabilities and change your strategy vs accumulating stress.. …Someone Rightly said “if you don’t want to be criticized ; say nothing ,do nothing & be nothing”.. Its up to you what choices you make during your interaction with your Boss.

Variety is the spice of life.

b) Use Question to manage your Mindset -If your Boss makes a thoughtless comment, Think about 1st question that you ask your self. If you ask “Why is he talking like this?”Now your mind is looking for reason why is he talking like this & that creates stress because even if you get it , u cant change it. Now if you change your question to ” What can i do to help me feel better in such situation? or what can i do to make him or her feel better or how can i do more of what i love ?”. As your mind searches for answers , you are likely to FEEL better as you are focused on positive things. You are either looking to help yourself or help someone. Helping anyone is an awesome feeling.

History has demonstrated that the most notable winners usually encountered heart-breaking obstacles before they triumphed. They won because they refused to become discouraged by their defeats. B.C. Forbes

c) Be Encouraged – If you operate with high Energy, growth mindset, ignore negativity & focus on your mountain Top , you are likely to carry an “Encouraging Energy” with you that will help you manage your stress.

& one of my Best for today :The worst bankrupt in the world is the man who has lost his enthusiasm. Let a man lose everything else in the world but his enthusiasm and he will come through again to success. H.W. Arnold

“Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” – Samuel Beckett

Imagine making a right choice ,Asking right question & remaining encouraged throughout tough interaction with your Boss ; you can gracefully get rid of your “stress”

I have my own struggle, my own set of challenges, my own share of Bad bosses however reflection through journal help me manage my situation well.I get super excited & elated when many learns my from my experience.

Do let me know your thoughts about above & how you manage your similar challenges.

Stay Great,

The Value of Small Daily Action – THE COMPOUND EFFECT – Part 1

Note # This blog was originally published # http://www.pratyushsingh.com/the-value-of-small-daily-action-the-compound-effect-part-1/

Recently, I came across an interesting Phrase “Microwave Mentality” over a conversation on how companies today market different Product  that Promises you Instant Gratification , Overnight success, get younger , Get fit instantly kind of Magic. While, I believe that these repetitive marketing messages have distorted our own opinion (by getting into our subconscious mind) of what it takes to succeed and the consequence of these opinion is we get frustrated and disappointed if we don’t succeed overnight.

Recently, I met a friend who asked me how to lose weight. I told him I am not a weight loss expert and ended up making a comment that if he moves or shakes his body more than what he did yesterday and continue to follow till he gets to a point of  his desired weight along with monitoring his eating habit. His Response was that he took a Annual Gym membership and it hasn’t helped him in last 3 months how come daily shaking or Moving your body will help him lose weight..

I suggested him book a “The Compounded Effect” by Darren Hardy. Idea was to let him realize that it’s not Grand Act of  heavy workout for 3 months that will bring his weight down but moment to moment decision that in themselves make no visible difference whatsoever ,but the accumulated decisions effect OVERTIME will have profound impact.

Success is often Sold in the world as “Magic Pill” , “Instantaneous Process” and not series of traditional & fundamental steps of  figuring out “Your One thing” and slowly advancing towards your dream till you get accomplish your dream & The SAD part is we BUY into these marketing messages.

Size of your life will be determined by the Size of the Problem you will Solve…You MAY not solve “Monumental Problem” if you haven’t Practiced Solving “Smaller Problems”

After interesting conversation, I ended up reading my old notes of “The Compounding Effect” By Darren Hardy and thought of penning down some of my own learning along with providing a required momentum to few of my newly acquired habits.

I have been through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.” – Mark Twain

I have structured my own learning around “Compound Effect” into 2 Parts. First one is Top 12 lessons and 2nd Part is 2-3 stories of Compounding Effect that have moved me and will possibly move you..

My top 12 lessons learnt on Value of Compounding Effect

  •  Most people get confused by the simplicity of the Compound Effect. What they don’t realize is that these small, seemingly insignificant steps completed consistently over time will create a radical difference in their life. We all have heard about “Hare & Tortoise” Story during our childhood. Darren Suggests that “Be a Tortoise, Given enough time you can beat anyone in any industry and in any country”. We all wish to be Hare but if you look at long run , its Tortoise that wins in the End..
  • Get Out of Lottery Winner Mindset i.e. You wish you were born Rich , You Wish you were born in specific family ,You wish you studied in specific college ,You Wish you had specific opportunity etc. If you read MOST REAL success stories , you would realize that “ Most of the Success was result of daily small ,smart choices made over a long period  time” .Remember In Lottery , We Listen about ONE Winner and NOT million losers..
  • People get to certain level of success & get complacent…Its time to re-coup our old Grandparents rule of work ethics i.e. real & lasting success requires WORK & really HARD work.
  • Knowledge is NOT Power. It is Potential Power. Idea without execution leads to delusion. Point is to ACT quickly on your knowledge.  My strategic plan is “DOING THING” – Herb Kallebar – CEO of Southwest Airlines
  •  Our choices can be great friend & worst enemy. Its only little thing that bite you & not big thing. Remember Mosquito and Elephant Analogy (Its Mosquitoes that bite & not elephant).Owning 100% of our Life result is a key to our life transformation. We are self made Man & women. Your Life is product of Moment to Moment choices.
  • Luck = Preparation +Personal growth + Attitude+ Daily Action +Opportunity (Natural Occurrence) . Luck is equal opportunity distributor.

Very few things are as amazingly impressive as the “magic” of compounding pennies. Amazingly, this “force” is equally powerful in every area of your life.” – Darren Hardy

  • Tracking is “Go to Model” for massive transformation. All winners are Trackers…Tracking bring moment to moment awareness. Track yourself as if u are valuable commodity. Pick ONE Habit & track its daily Progress till it becomes part of neural network or default Operating Rhythm.
  • Don’t let your habits run your Life. We are born with instincts and No habits, we build habits. Our Habits and Routines define our life. Habit you indulge may be compounding your life .A single poor habit overtime can derail you from your key Goal or from mission of your Life. Remember Compound Effect is always working
  • Build your LIFE Plan before your BUSINESS Plan or Professional plan. We generally do opposite i.e. we build professional plan & try to FIT in our personal Goal that is Prime cause of our dis-satisfaction.
  • Be aware about your Entertainment to Education Ratio. Bottom 80 % are focused on entertainment.. Figure out how to free yourself from Media Madness that is always focused on Negativity or the worst case scenario.
  • Make Power of consistency as YOUR competitive advantage .It takes approx 10 times more effort and Energy to re-launch any of your Project vs continuously doing it till you successfully complete it. Understand that there is a Massive cost of inconsistency.
  • List out number of things that you are doing are not inspiring, not adding to your health goal or  happiness goal ,not adding value to your Life etc.Use Compounding model to delete them slowly i.e. If you drink 5 cup of caffeine ,First reduce quantity in each cup followed by number of cups in a day followed by completely replacing it with lemon water or Green tea. Reducing it slowly & consistently over a period of time can get help you get rid of your undesired habits.
  • What have u decided to tolerate is what u get?if tolerate Your body to be over –weight , u would get it, If you Tolerate Negativity, You would get it. If you Tolerate Negative association , you will GET it..

Remember RAIN before RAINBOW i.e. daily Efforts before Massive Success..

Hope Some of my above learning Serve you massively..

 Stay Great

Fear means that it matters to you..

Note # This Blog was originally published on 20th Feb 2015 @ http://www.pratyushsingh.com/fear-means-that-it-matters-to-you/

I happened to ask my Coach/Mentor on why i FEAR about certain things and how can i get rid of FEAR emotion and replace it with Courage? He gave an interesting insight by asking a Powerful Question i.e. What does FEAR mean to me?

I said FEAR means to me that

  • I want to Do it .For example – I fear going to stage and face large crowd but in reality,I want to go to stage and face thousands of people confidently.
  • It matters to me.For Example whenever i feel fear about doing something , whether its meeting one of my toughest customers,or for whatever reason, I think it matters to me.It means I care about my toughest customers/my toughest client.
  • If I do it , Fear will disappear.I remember my fear of driving in US that has different driving rules than driving rules in India.Once i drove , Fear disappeared.
  • If I do it , Something inside me will grow.
  • If I do it , Something beautiful will happen and I will be free of fear.

etc.

I respectfully ended my conversation within 20 min with an insight that i wanted to think over and journal about it.I got an incredible insight that if I change my belief about FEAR from “FEAR is negative emotion” to ” What fear means to me? “, I would start taking action vs thinking about fear.

Fear of doing anything can only be cured by doing it.

I am amazed at how a single insight / or greater meaning to your emotion can change your State from “being Powerless” to “being Fearless”.

One Insightful Query – What would happen if I move toward that opportunity, embrace that fear?

Single idea for Action- Keep pressing forward until that fear dissolves or you find practical ways to move around it.

I hope above insight is of value to you.I would conclude my thoughts by a Powerful Poem by Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

My Deepest Regard and Gratitude to you

Stay Great

Pratyush

Challenge Mediocrity

Note # This blog was originally posted on 25th Feb 2015 @ http://www.pratyushsingh.com/challenge-mediocrity/

Be Master in your Craft by working on your Craft

Be Master in your Craft by working on your Craft

During one of my recent domestic trip, I saw approx 8-9 year old kid building a castle of sand in park.I overheard him saying that “I HATE to Fail”.It caught my attention and I asked him “Who told You about Failure?”.His response was his parents and his teacher have told him that its bad to Fail, its bad to lose.

Its difficult to change the installed belief system of kid by short conversation however i thought of leaving him with an insight.

I humbly asked him if he knows about “Bill Gates” ,”Sir Richard Branson” , “Steve Jobs” ,Mahatma Gandhi etc. He said yes and asked him to go and search why these respected gentlemen Failed Over and Over again ,learnt from their failures until they finally became successful. Most of them were college drop outs so “Failure” is not as bad as it is often told to us so long we continue to learn ,move forward towards the direction of our dream.

“Hate to Fail Mindset will lead you to Mediocrity”

The thought that bothers me the most here is that it’s the Parents,Government and teachers, partly through the schools, that force students to think that Failure is BAD not realizing that its the failure that leads to success.

Recently , I was reading a book “Resolved” by Orrin Woodward, he talks about the concept oflearned helplessness. When people get so used to the way things are, they don’t think it’s possible to be anything else; it limits their beliefs, and no one will do anything if they don’t believe that they can succeed by failing forward (i.e. Keep trying until you succeed).

If we build the belief system within our kids that “easier is better” ,”Failure is bad” or “Do what rest of the world is doing” ; we are building a mediocre generation

One of the concepts that is truly essential if we truly want to build a high performing and Happier NEXT generation , we have to install “NEW belief ” system of Continuous Next Level through Failures i.e. Fail , Learn , Fail , Learn and continue to repeate till you succeed. It’s almost a cliché but it really is something that the culture has to embrace, and it really has to manifest itself in everyday behavior.

If we Build the belief system that ‘I’ve got to figure out a way to do something a little bit better today than I did yesterday’, and if you can foster that in the culture of our Society or the Culture of our organization , great things will begin to happen.

“There will never be better you than you” – Warren buffet..

Brilliant insight by Warren Buffet. There will never be a better me than me.Its easy to get caught in what society may teach us , parents forces us or teachers teaches us to be someone else then us.We forget that if we try to be somebody , we would only end 2nd version of him /or her.

We are VERY special or VERY unique to play at extraordinary level with our lives than to be 2nd best version of someone else and eventually become mediocre Professional/or human being.

We get so caught-up of being someone else that we forget our hidden potential , Our Authentic self & for that matter being simply ourselves..

Success will come by “being simply you”

I am a strong believer that if we figure out our “WHY” and become master in our craft , we will be building a generation of happier specialist vs tensed generalist…

There is a fun in living an Intense life , A life that is designed to be yourself vs mediocre someone else.

Lets Challenge Mediocrity from today , from this very moment.

Wish each one of you a world class life that you can be proud of yourself during the last moment of your Life.

Stay Great

Body Fuel (Food) as Competitive Advantage to your Career

Its an interesting perspective how you can leverage “Body Fuel” to your advantage.

Your Choice—Surviving or Thriving

Note # This Blog was published on 3rd March @ http://www.pratyushsingh.com/your-choice-surviving-or-thriving/

Your Daily Actions are silently building all your tomorrows.

Your Daily Actions are silently building all your tomorrows.

One of the most common answer to Question ” Howz you Life going on?” is “Its ok , Just Surviving or going on”.

The Question is not how to Survive ,but how to thrive with passion ,compassion ,Humor & Style – Maya Angelou

I wonder why our Answer to this question remain same when so many things around us have progressed. There’s no doubt that life is demanding ,challenging & difficult ,but the way one responds to those challenges will determine whether you are surviving or Thriving. Moment to Moment choices to how you respond will determine the quality of your life.

Optimists are busy finding ways to bounce back and pessimists are looking for excuses or searching for people to Blame.

“The search for someone to blame is always successful.”—Robert Half

One of the strong contributing factor to how we respond is to do wither with our associations or with what we listen & read.I strongly believe that different form of media -Television & News paper contribute greatly to our thinking process that we are born victims.

Somewhere , I read that 90% of people wants to watch Problems , Crimes & disasters and if you show something positive , they will change the channel. On an average , people watch 4 hours of television every day and watching these TV Programs -Reality TV , News will do more to add to your depression and make you feel helplessness..

“Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.”

—Mark Twain

You can find thriving individuals everywhere but they are hardly shown in TV/or Mentioned in News paper.

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

—Martin Luther King Jr.

How about changing our state from “Just Surviving” to “Thriving”? What do you think contributes to your helplessness if your answer is ” I am just surviving”?

Many Thanks for reading & Stay Great

Focus as Competitive Advantage

I read it and found it extremely valuable..

Inspired and Happy Living...

I spent my Saturday (15th March’14) in sea world, San Diego & got to feel some of the world’s best ocean experience. Apart from learning lot about ocean life, I came across powerful line “If things are not working, Shift your Focus”

I found extremely relevant during the time when we all suffer from information overload, anxiety and stress, fragmented & scattered mind. As a result, we tend to think why don’t we get the desired result .May we are not focusing on right things, May be our focus is scattered, May be our focus is not inline with our priorities etc..As I write about it , I am also re-reading Steve Jobs’s biography by Walter Isaacson.

In summary , Steve Jobs’s life has been around 2 fundamental philosophies –Focus & Simplicity. He has been an iconic leader in terms of leveraging “FOCUS” as a competitive advantage when…

Inspire Confidence & not Fear…

Image

“Fear: False Evidence Appearing Real.”Unknown

Someone asked me in my blog about my opinion of getting WORK done through an element of creating Fear in your TEAM. I thought Its a THOUGHT worth pondering. My 1 liner perspective was : It depends how you want to be viewed in your “Eulogy” – A leader with a Stick or a Great leader who always inspired & build hope within his team. Choice is “Yours”.

“Nobody can give you wiser advice than yourself.” ~Cicero

If I get deeper into it , I have had few leaders who created undue urgency or Fear of a customer to get things done. Under such circumstances , I focused more on my survival or protecting my self vs TRULY creating value for my Organization & people.

To share a personal story with you , I was flying on Airlines from US to India & we smelled “short circuit” & after a while , Pilot came out & mentioned that we may have to land on sea. I didn’t hear anything further because of screaming & anxiety inside a plane. Everyone was gripped with FEAR & I saw few people getting fainted with whole series of Chaos being created. As I was travelling alone , I just closed my eyes  & though “What has to happen will happen?” and there is no use of panic. Later, we all heard that smell of short circuit disappeared after internal power was switched off ( we were not able to watch TV or slide our chair through Remote”).

Image

So a simple real life example where an “Undue FEAR” was created that fainted few & created anxiety in others .Like many fears , it didn’t come true. (95% of our Fear is self created that never exist beyond our mind).

So instead of instilling a confidence in “Hope”/”Confidence” , Pilot instilled a sense of “FEAR” hence paralyzed people with massive amount of Anxiety. Instead , as a positive leader ,Pliot should have created confidence among people by instilling a sense of self –belief among passengers.

If we go little deep , our well intentioned parents or we ,as a parents, say “Don’t run, don’t fall, don’t do this , don’t embarrass me”.So we have been programmed to be fearful from an early age.

“Fears are educated into us, and can, if we wish, be educated out.” – Karl Augustus Menninger

Now a days , I am reading a lot around Neuro science. One of the interesting statistics states that 70 % of our thoughts unconsciously focused on “What we don’t want?”.So what happens in our brain is that brain releases Cortisol; that’s a fearful thing. When Cortisol is released ,its difficult to be resourceful & creative. So it’s critical that we come from a place of curiosity rather than that unconscious focus of fear, because that’s been around for a long time.

What is a result of creating FEAR?

  • Creates stress ,anxiety in you
  • It paralyzes you
  • Inhibits Performance
  • Comparison disease

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. — Yoda

Image

We all have same set of resources (billions of neurons) within ourselves. We can use them in being fearful or being creative. Your Choice!!

Many of my ex-colleagues often used to tell me that they held a dead end jobs , toxic relationship with their bosses, worked on draining projects because they thought if they quit their friends would call them “quitter”. People doubt themselves to the point that they make decision based on what others want of them ,and not what they want for themselves.

How about forgetting about what everyone else is thinking of you? Actually no one has a time to THINK of anyone. Why not just make a decisions ,and then correct them as you go along…?

“You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” – A.A. Milne

Ignore false fear created by your leaders and do whats right for your Organization & your customers.

“Others can stop you temporarily – you are the only one who can do it permanently.” – Zig Ziglar

What are your thoughts? How do you lead your Organization or your team? Or how do you manage your Fear?

Stay Great & Fearless….

If I were 22 year Old….

Opening Picture1

Some of my lovely relatives graduating kids and few friends younger brother have been asking me about Career advice. I really find very challenging to advice anyone on Career when I don’t know enough about them. It’s an interesting time as approx 132 million students would be graduating ( China -19% , US -14% , India -11%) across the globe in coming months of 2014.Note # I am not able to trace the source of statistics however I do remember reading it in one of the leading business Magazine.

I don’t know if I would do same things that I am penning down as I feel that it is painful truth that one never does 100% of what one advises however I have learnt few valuable lessons in life that if I had applied when I was 22,my life would be on different trajectory,

I will pen down some of my own life’s lessons that I would have loved to execute #IfIWere22 .

1) Realize that what you do now, who you spend your time with, and what you study now ALL contribute to who you become. Study what you are passionate about because it can become a career that feeds your mind and your soul and GIVE you life’s greatest Fulfillment.

2) I would find what I love to do & do that as much of that as possible. I would have let my passion lead my career choice. Instead of taking established career PATH , I would have evaluated career based on my PASSION.

3) Do unknown & embrace uncertainty. Make key decision based on your inner guide/or compass & not based on what the world around you would think..

4) Life is Product of your decisions & not your conditions, and that your ability to make good decisions are ruled by your own thinking and believes about yourself and the world.Make right choices thinking “Long Term =5 or 10 years” vs instant satisfaction.

5) You shouldn’t worry about money beyond point. At least not pick up Job based on “How much?”.

6) Make Longer term Life and Career Plan. Think about 5 years, 10 year & 20 year life Plan. Visualize your death bed statement. We always overestimate how much we can achieve in 1 year & underestimate how much we can achieve in 5 or 10 years from now.

7) Shatter your Ego.Meet all kinds of people in as many places as possible.

8) Get out of comparison disease. Better to compete with one self vs competing with others that will not help you with your longer term vision & mission.

9) Write a Journal & Take time to reflect . It is hard to see where you are going if you don’t stop and take the long view every once and a while. Get comfortable with being alone. It is a sign of knowing and loving yourself. Journaling or blogging is a great way to do this

10) Don’t worry about not doing “Cool stuff” or not looking “cool”.It Just doesnt serve you.

11) Stay longer with your Goal. Remember Anders Ericsson–the father of “The 10,000 Hour Rule” that to become genius or operate at Genius level , you have to stay & Practice long enough with your Goal..

12) Learn from Challenges , Pain & disappointment. They are great teacher & can become your great story.

13) Dream 10X more & start now as “You will never be ready ”.I have postponed many things in life because I THOUGHT I was not ready.

14) Practice Happiness.World needs more happy leaders than smart /or sharp leaders.

15) Its either “YES” or “NO”. “May be “ has created lot of stress in my Head -:)

16) Be BOLD & make BOLD decisions. #IfIWere22
